About Zakynthos
Zakynthos, also known as Zante, owes its fame mainly to Navagio Beach, where a rusting shipwreck sits in a secluded bay ringed by limestone cliffs, reachable only by boat. The island is also an important nesting site for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, with protected zones in Laganas Bay.
The south and east offer a livelier tourist scene with plenty of bars and clubs, while the northwest is quieter, with more unspoiled nature around the Blue Caves near Cape Skinari.
