About Kefalonia

Kefalonia is the largest island in the Ionian Sea and known for the turquoise water of Myrtos Beach, one of the most photographed beaches in Greece, enclosed by steep white cliffs. Inland, Mount Ainos rises up, home to one of the few remaining forests of its kind of native fir.

The island also has striking geology: at Melissani Lake, seawater flows through underground passages into a partially collapsed cave, creating a breathtaking light effect when the sun shines straight in. Kefalonia pairs well with Ithaca and Zakynthos on an Ionian route.
