Tilos
Hikers, birdwatchers and eco-conscious travelers wanting one of Greece's quietest, greenest islands.
Fitting Tilos into your route
About Tilos
Tilos punches above its size as a nature destination: a designated bird sanctuary on the Europe-Africa migration route, with an unusually extensive network of marked hiking trails through mountains, gorges and abandoned medieval villages like Mikro Chorio.
With only a couple of small villages and barely any nightlife, Tilos suits travelers who hike by day and eat quietly by the water at night.

Tips

- Visit in spring (April-May) for the best birdwatching during migration season.
- Bring cash and shop in Livadia; elsewhere on the island options are limited.
