About Milos
Milos is volcanic in origin, which shows in more than 70 beaches with striking colours and shapes, from the white moonscape rocks at Sarakiniko to the colourful cliffs at Firiplaka. The island is less about nightlife and more about touring by car or boat from one new bay to the next.
The fishing villages of Klima and Mandrakia, with their colourful boathouses (syrmata) right on the water, are among the most photographed spots in the Cyclades. Milos is perfect for a boat trip around the island, thanks to its jagged coastline, one of the finest cruises in Greece.

Tips
- Book a boat excursion around the island, many of the best spots are only visible from the sea.
- Sarakiniko is spectacular but has little shade, go early or late in the day.
- Klima and Mandrakia are ideal for a quiet evening stroll past the boat houses.
- Rent a car, public transport doesn't cover all the beaches.
