About Sifnos

Sifnos is known as the culinary capital of the Cyclades: the island has a long tradition of pottery and still uses those clay pots for traditional stews. In every village, from Apollonia to Artemonas, you'll find small tavernas where generations pass down the same recipes.

The network of footpaths between the villages is among the best in the Cyclades, with whitewashed chapels and sea views on almost every route. Sifnos is less about nightlife and more about slowing down, which makes it a favourite for repeat visitors.

  • Kastro, the old medieval capital, is almost car-free and extremely photogenic.
  • Platys Gialos and Vathi are the most relaxed beaches to stay near.
