About Corfu
Corfu was under Venetian influence for centuries, and that's still visible in the old town, which sits on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Narrow lanes, pastel-coloured facades and a strong Italian influence on the cuisine make Corfu Town unique within Greece.
The island is significantly greener than the Cyclades thanks to higher rainfall, with olive groves reaching right to the coast. The northeast coast around Kassiopi is quieter and smaller-scale, while the south has more resorts and nightlife.
