About Syros

Syros is the capital of the Cyclades, and its main town Ermoupoli is unlike any other island capital in the group: a stately 19th-century port city with neoclassical mansions, marble squares and the Apollo Theatre, a miniature La Scala. Above it sits Ano Syros, a medieval Catholic hilltop settlement of narrow stepped streets.

Syros has real year-round life, carried by locals rather than only summer tourists, with a lively cultural and culinary scene.
