About Kalymnos
Kalymnos is known worldwide as a climbing destination, with hundreds of bolted sport routes in limestone cliffs right by the sea. Outside the climbing season the island is much quieter, with a strong sponge-diving tradition still visible in museums and shops in the capital, Pothia.
The landscape is rougher than the sandy-beach islands of the Cyclades, with pebble beaches and dramatic limestone formations. Kalymnos pairs well with Kos, a short ferry ride away.

- Visit the sponge museum in Pothia for the history of the sponge divers.
