About Astypalea
Butterfly-shaped Astypalea sits geographically closer to the Cyclades than the rest of the Dodecanese, and it shows: a hilltop Chora with a Venetian castle, cube-shaped white houses and a row of picturesque windmills.
The island's two 'wings' are linked by a narrow isthmus, and getting around means driving between many small sandy coves rather than settling on one beach.
