Thirasia
Travelers wanting Santorini's caldera views without the crowds and cruise ships.
Fitting Thirasia into your route
About Thirasia
Thirasia shares the same volcanic caldera rim as Santorini, split off by the Minoan-era eruption, and shows what Santorini's cliffside villages looked like before mass tourism. Its main village, Manolas, sits atop the caldera cliffs, reached by a steep path from the small port of Korfos.
With no airport and minimal accommodation, Thirasia works mainly as a quiet day-trip destination from Santorini or Oia.

Tips
- Come as a half or full day trip from Oia or Ammoudi Bay by local boat.
- Be ready to climb the roughly 300 steps from Korfos port up to Manolas.
- Stay for sunset if possible; the caldera view rivals Santorini's with a fraction of the crowds.
